Ethernet Controller drivers not installed
After having several problems with the computer, I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows (XP Home). I plugged everything in, etc., but the computer wouldn't pick up any internet connection. The modem and router are working because this laptop is picking up the wireless connection. Device manager says I don't have any drivers for the ethernet controller. How/Where can I get them onto the computer (obviously I can't download them because I can't connect to the internet).
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Aren't you connected to the internet to post in this forum? Which model computer do you have? Did you install the chipset drivers and the drivers as the first drivers installed after reinstallation of Windows? Did you load the drivers for your ethernet adapter after installing the chipset drivers? All of these drivers should be on your Dell Resource CD or Dell Drivers and Utilities CD. If you don't have that CD, then your only option is to download them on a computer that has internet access, burn them to a CD-R, then copy them from the CD-R to your broken computer.
