I8200 internal Antenna broken ?

Hi,

i had problems all of a sudden, as my Truemobile 1150 wouldn't connect anymore whenever distance to my AP went above a few metres. After unplugging/plugging the internal connector from main to auxiliary it got better but still not satisfying. So I bought a new Truemobile 1450 (since I read about similar problems on this board which were solved with new cards). Nothing changed for me, I also reinstalled the whole OS in order to prevent obsolete drivers but without luck. BTW the problem actually occures in XP as well as Ubuntu-Linux. The internal Antenna looks good, there're no unplanned shortcuts, nor broken connections, but I know physics is different when it comes to HF signals. Further tipps appreciated ?! Does someone know the part-nr of the internal antenna or maybe even it's price ? Cold this be any other defekt ?

Have you tried updating the router firmware?

yes, same effect also on different APs, no matter which channel either, other computers work just fine at the same time/place

One more question, dell-support told me not to exchange the internal antenna since it would lead all the way to the panel and it would be too difficult to repair it without further damaging. But my antenna is just about 5 inch log and ends at a little metal plate at the right side of the Inspiron. Did I connect the right cable ?!
