Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card
I am taking delivery of a new laptop this week, specs as below:
In order to maximize use of my Belkin N1 Vision Wireless Router, I was thinking of replacing the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Dual Band 802.11a/g 54 Mbps Wireless Mini Card with a Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card.If I can get hold of one, will an Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card fit into a Dell Inspiron(TM) 1720 Notebook ?

ronss,Thanks for the link and the advice. Think I'll see how my system works as is with the Belkin N1 Router and existing wireless card. If upgrading I will look to the N1 adaptor you suggested.cheers,Darrennuttifeetfirst

(Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 Dual Band 802.11a/g 54 Mbps Wireless Mini-card)With the New system having the above wireless card, then the Intel 4965AGN mini card will work, however please be sure that there are three ariel connections and not two as in the previous card.

i would just keep what you have in your notebook...it b/g stanard and should serve you well . if you are going to use wireless n-stanard on your 1720 with the belkin router,,,then you need the n1 adapter that is shown on this site-

nice notebook,,i have a hp dv6000t with a 7400 video adapter,,,but the 8600gt is lots better...enjoy
if the 4965 agn will work in your rig,,not sure...its not available for configuration...that is a bad sign
