Internet Explorer / Network

How does not point the Internet Explorer to the Ethernet 10/100 Connection?  I have been using dial-up on my computer and have given it to my daughter for college.  I installed an 10/100 Network Card and how have it hooked to the Ethernel cable..  Control Panel says that everything in woring and connected.  How do I go about setting Internet Explorer to look at the Network Connection instead of the original Dial-Up connection.  Thanks in advance for your help.....

OK, I'll give a try... In IE, click Tools > Internet Options > Connections > See if anything there will help. I have nothing in the dial up options box. You can delete it since you won't use it anymore or mark, "Never..."

Also, do you have the Network settings set up correctly?

Go to Control Panel, > Network > You should see something like Local Area Connection. If so, right click > Properties > ... you should see your network card at the top and at least Client for MS networks and TCP/IP.

If not, you can add those... or use the tasks in the left of that window... Create a Connection and Set up Home or Small Office Network... follow the prompts.

And make sure you're not use a crossover cable... :smileysurprised: ... which I stupidly was trying to use recently. Chances are you don't have that.

Repost if you need more info or help. The Windows help is pretty good, too. This should get you in the right direction.

Within IE go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections and delete the dialup connection that is still showing as a viable connection.
