Good morning! I hope I can find some help here. I have an Acer Notebook that my husband gave me. To go on-line, I have to run a cable from my laptop in the living room all the way to my Roadrunner internet connection. I cant use it any further than that. There must be an easier way to me to be able to go anywhere without having to be hooked into the cable. When I look at Dell's products, they all mention Dell #'s, and I have an Acer. So I am very confused. Here is my computer info:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
Intel (R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.6 GHz 2.60 GHz, 240 MB of RAM
I will be taking Graphic Design courses thru a local college starting this June. Can you recommend anything else I may need to do with my Acer in order to prepare for this?
I am worried I may not have enough RAM. How do I get more and what do I do with it when I get it? I am sorry - I am very dumb when it comes to the guts of a puter. THanks for any and all help.
more info...just went to my control panel and it has a wizard to help set up the wireless....but says to install a "usb flash drive" What in the heck is that and where do I get one??
It is unclear from your message whether or not you actually have a wireless router and a wireless network card for your computer. Without these, you cannot set up a wireless network. I have no familiarity with the different possible models of Acer computers, so I cannot help with adding memory to such a computer.
