Optiplex 7050 MT amber light code issues
I'm at a dead end, so far. I have a FEW 7050 MT systems here. Just bought 2 barebones boxes to rebuild. I always use: Kady Lake i7-7700 Intel Core, 32 GB Hynix ram, AMD Radeon r7-450 video. I bought 2 motherboards on eBay and both are giving me the "2-7" amber light code. Possibly BIOS needs flashing!? How can you flash the BIOS if you can't get into the BIOS? I'm lost and need a little advice here. Thank you.

Hello, I have a different take. The light code 2, 7 on your OptiPlex indicates memory failure. See suggest resolution below.

you should first relace cmos battery on those ebay boards with brand new battery. then clear cmos settings by motherboard CLR CMOS jumper. this will often bring these boards back to POST.
do not flash bios unless you absolutely need to. you currently have boards that can not POST, so it is not a good time to flash.

Just say if you really need to flash the BIOS, follow the instruction from the link below to perform BIOS recovery using a USB flash drive with BIOS recovery image file.

Just to add a tad of confusion ....
Dell’s published guidance for the 7050 family also notes that some patterns can indicate no processor or disconnected CPU power, but the 2-7 pattern specifically points to memory configuration/init failure rather than the CPU not being installed, or even...
2 amber, 7 white: LCD failure.

@Chino de Oro the memory is brand new Hynix memory 4x8GB for a total of 32GB. I tried one stick at a time in each slot and no go.

@redxps630 need to find or figure out what pins exactly to jumper. Default is the center two pins jumped I believe, at least all of my Optiplex is set that way.

@KitMcGuire , on OptiPlex 7050 MT, short pins 5 and 6 (on the right of header) for CMOS clear, reset.
The blue jumper is on 3 and 4. Remove jumper and connect it on pin 5 and 6 for 5 seconds. Remove jumper and replace it back on 3 and 4. Only perform reset after you replace coin cell with a fresh CR2032.

Chino is correct.
there is a cheat sheet jumper pin table printed on motherboard so OP or anyone who needs to clear CMOs can read it.

@Chino de Oro Yes. I did find it and set the jumper on pins 5 and 6 for about 30 seconds. I'll say it helped. Thank you!

@Ketan09 Many thanks to everyone who made the suggestions you did! As it turns out, when you buy a motherboard for a Dell computer, Optiplex 7050 at least, the BIOS needs the Service Tag number! Steps I took: took old battery out. Cleared CMOS. Took the 4 sticks of ram out and started with one at a time and wouldn't you know it, one stick was bad! Good thing I had a spare which works. I finally got a screen (ONE TIME ONLY) it said to make some type of choice, which I went with the default AND a box at the bottom to enter the service tag number! Re-booted and got into the BIOS! Success! Made the needed changes in BIOS and did a fresh new install of Windows 11 Pro 25H2 and so far, so good. It was a combination of: one bad stick of ram, a new battery, clearing CMOS and getting the service tag into the BIOS. CPU has no issues at all. Graphics card (AMD Radeon R7 450) is good. Problems solved thus far. Mouse activity is a bit wanky, but this too shall pass.
