We have deployed a number of Dell OptiPlex 7060 small form factor PCs. They all got Windows Enterprise SAC. We've had several of them that will randomly go to a black screen which says no bootable devices found, sometimes while in a locked or sleep state, some while actively in use. At first we thought it might be related to users having an external hard drive plugged in. But now some computers that don't have the external drive have done it. When the screen comes up, the only way to make it boot is with a hard reboot. After that, it runs fine again for a while, then it might happen again randomly.
We use UEFI boot, and the boot sequence is set to Windows Boot Manager first, then iPv4 NIC, as we pull our images across the network.
Both Dell and Microsoft charge either on a contract basis or per incident basis.
An incident is defined as a single support issue and the reasonable efforts needed to resolve it. A single support issue is a problem that can't be broken down into subordinate problems. If it can be broken down into subordinate problems, each subordinate problem shall be considered a separate incident. An incident may require multiple contacts and offline research to achieve final resolution. The amount you'll be charged does not depend on the amount of time spent in delivering these solutions.
Professional support incidents can be supported 24 hours a day or during business hours until they’re resolved. If 24-hour support is selected, your company should have people available to work on the incident potentially 24 hours a day. Although support professionals will make best efforts to resolve your issue, Microsoft cannot guarantee to resolve all issues, due to the diversity of our customers’ computer configurations. Customers may request to close a case before it's resolved; however, the billing status of the incident is at the discretion of Microsoft.
We'll proceed to archive this conversation at the moment. Should you have any additional questions, please let us know, and we'll be glad to help. In the following days you may be receiving a survey regarding our assistance via social media. Have a great day!
