Optiplex 9020 MT RAM compatibility
Hi guys I want to buy 8gb ram but I am not sure if it´s compatible with my setup. I have Optiplex 9020 MT.

@bradthetechnut Yes, when I install the RAM that was in it, even if I change its location, it works, but when I install SK hynix I'm getting an orange flash; is it due to density or something else?

@TOUFIK GHALEM Then another thing to try is 1 stick at a time with the Hynix.
I can't answer density or other questions about the Hynix RAM without knowing what exact RAM did you get? Model #'s and photo(s) both help.
From what you indicated so far, there seems to be an incompatibility issue with they Hynix RAM.
For example, if the Hynix RAM is DDR4, it's not going to work in a DDR3 PC, such as yours. Not sure that DDR4 could even physically install in a DDR3 system.

I assume you are thinking about leaving the RAM you have installed now in place and adding an 8GB RAM module. That is a lot of different types of RAM. It is always recommended to add RAM in pairs or 4 at a time in matched kits. That way you have the most compatible RAM installed. Crucial RAM is one of the most Dell compatible RAM types. The Hynix RAM is good RAM, I just would not recommend mixing 2 x 2 and 1 x 4 and 1 x 8.

1.5v ram is not supported.
1.35v ram is required.

It can´t be true , because as you saw , all of my RAMs are 1.5V.
It even came with 1.5V Ram when I bought it.

"HMT41GU6MFR8C-PB" is not listed as compatible nor is it listed as DUAL Voltage.

LOW DENSITY ram is required.
The ram that works is VERY specific.
Kingston Value Ram and Random Hynix models are not likely to work.
MUST NOT BE HIGH DENSITY RAM.

So if I will remove my RAM and place 2 of these 8 GB which I mentioned , will it work?

This is me. I own a Dell Optiplex 9020 sff and I bought three 8GB RAM modules SK hynix, but the computer won't boot up and just flashes an orange light.
