Failed Memory module
I have an R730 server with a memory module showing "correctable error rate exceeded".
It's unlikely we'll be able to get an engineer to the data centre soon so can we continue running the server with a failed/failing memory module? It's an ESXi host which seemed to continue running ok with the error, though it is now drained off all workloads.
Can I just run as is? Should I disabled the module in the BIOS?

You wouldn't be able to disable the individual dimm from the BIOS, and depending on the population, if you could you could cause it to halt due to an unsupported memory configuration. You should be ok running for the time being, but I would get someone out at the earliest convenience. When onsite, I would recommend they swap the dimm with another matching dimm within the server to verify if the error follows the dimm (issues with dimm), or stays at the original slot location (issues with slot).

Thanks. We would normally get someone out the same or next day but it's a test environment and lock down restrictions are stopping us from doing that at the moment. So just trying to figure out best course of action for now.
