iDRAC 6.00.02.00 - OME as proxy support for Virtual Console

Hi,

https://dl.dell.com/content/manual7833789-idrac9-version-6-00-02-00-release-notes.pdf?language=en-us&ps=true

- OpenManage Enterprise as proxy support for Virtual Console and Virtual Media sessions to iDRAC

What does this mean?
Can OME be used as a proxy to access the iDRAC virtual console (so no direct access to the iDRAC is needed)

    Hi @GeertC,

I am not familiar with the feature stated in the iDRAC 9 release notes. I will check with our engineering team and get back to you when I have an update.

    Hi @GeertC,

Here is the update from our engineering team.

OME Proxy for IDRAC Virtual Console and Virtual sessions.

This allows a user without direct access or without authenticating to the IDRAC / IDRAC network, to use OME to launch the console and virtual media if they have access to the OME console / OME Network.

How can you use this feature in Dell OME ?

If i now launch a console to a iDRAC, directly from OME, it always uses the direct IP from the iDRAC in the browser.

    Grz,

    Hi @GeertC,

Yes, this is as per the design, it will use the iDRAC IP, but will bypass iDRAC credentials.
