    Hi,

No, we don't support those features today but we may in the future.

    Hi zhangduolong

Deduplication and compression aren't features of ScaleIO today.

If you are a customer or potential customer with an active opportunity for purchasing ScaleIO, I would suggest reaching out to your account rep or SE and asking that a feature request be logged. This will help us track demand. Please be specific as to whether your workload benefits more from compression or deduplication. Thanks for you interest in ScaleiO!

Compression should be an *on by default* feature because it speeds up access to disk when reading/writing files that compress heavily.

Modern compression is almost entirely offloaded by the CPU anyway.   LZ4 is very fast and very lightweight.  It's the current "pied piper" of compression.

Excellent reference to Silicon Valley! As we plan, we will keep this in mind. Thanks!
