Windows 2003 & PowerPath 4.5.0 eFIX Silent Install

Hello,

I'm trying to package silent installation of PowerPath.

EMCPP.W2003_32.4.5.0.GA.exe /s /v" /q LICENSENUM=%LICENSE% INSTALL_DRIVE=C NO_REBOOT=1" where LICENSE is License Number, works very well
but the same command line with EMCPP.W2003_32.4.5.0.EF1.GA.exe reboot the computer ...

How can I avoid this reboot using silent install for this eFIX ?

Thanks
Pierre-Francois

    From Primus solution emc128389 :

This issue has been fixed and will be part of the next release of PowerPath for Windows. In the meantime, use the following workaround:

Do not use NO_REBOOT=1 setup command line option during silent mode (non-interactive) upgrade from earlier PowerPath versions. Instead, use REBOOT=ReallySupress option in the setup command line.

    Regards, George

    George:

will this solution work if PowerPath is being installed on a brand new box ? or just for an upgrade from an earlier version?

so if you are trying to do an upgrade on a box that has PP 3.0 installed ..can you do that in one set ..or do you have to uninstall PP 3.0 first reboot and then install 4.5?

This work around can be used on a new host, however, PowerPath is not installed until you reboot the host. If your goal is to install PowerPath and do the reboot later, then yes, you can do this.
