PowerVault MD3200 VxWorks ShellUsr Login

I've got a handful of MD32XX controllers that are in a few different lockdown modes. I have posted on the forum here and sent CLI prints to a tech, but it has been over a week since I've received a reply. None of these units are under Dell warranty. I did have two units in lockdown that are under warranty and I was able to call in and resolve the issue. An engineer or tier 3 tech had to remote in and manually start an elevated Shell. The VxWorks shell. The shell is started by entering CTRL+BREAK then pressing any of the F keys, it prompts for VxWorks login and password. The user is ShellUsr however I do not know the password. If I can get the password it will save me hours of remote sessions with Dell. -Have averaged just under 2hrs per "unlock procedure." I have 5+ more to do. I can do them on my own with the notes I've taken in remote sessions however I need the login credentials.

    Hi,

If you’re trying to access the Shell login to reset your MD3200, it’s a good idea to contact support first. They can help you avoid any issues that might come up during the reset. We don’t share the username and password publicly because using them without guidance can be risky. But since you found the login details online, you can go ahead and reset the system yourself. Just be careful!

You may be able to find those credentials with the help of Google, but I suspect that if someone were to post them here, that the moderators may delete the post.

If someone knows the credentials they may be able to PM them to you though.

Thank you sir, I was able to find the credentials with a quick google search. I have since brought back one of the units to life.

Since it is a brand new unit I highly suggest calling Dell. It may take an hour or so to resolve, however the task shell can be highly destructive, one missed keystroke can easily brick the device.

I got it but don't seem to have the ability to PM. Maybe because I'm to new?
