Due to Precision 3650 Tower small case too hot during cpu full loading, Can I change original case to Micro-ATX Case with other cooler?(I had a Lian Li PC-A04)
Maybe change UPS if oem 550W USP not be appled to mATX case?
The progressively more proprietary nature of the newer models makes moving them to a case that can breathe impossible. I still prefer to warm my hands against the output from my VAACUUM Tube models that work fine with windows 10 or 11. Investing your upgrade dollars in a new GPU is not a waste of money. Nor is upgrading power supply to AT LEAST EVGA 700BR or better.
Once thats done upgrading to a newer better case is fine. Works well with X51 R1 and R2, 390 790 990 ,3010 7010 9010, Precision T1600 T1700 series. Precision 3620 series, etc. Some of the newer models need Moddiy CAB 359 cable to convert the 24 pin EPS12v to 6 or 8 pin. By the time you get to wayy newer models like XPS 8940, 7080, G5 etc its too late to use a new case and impossible to use a standard power supply not only because it doesnt fit in the case but because the outputs dont match the moddiy adapters and therefore are not upgradeable.
Installing windows 11 on these unsupported models works fine but its not a water chicken install and it cant be done in a single step. Not supported doesnt mean not working. WDDM 1.0 drivers from Vista, WIN7, WIN8 etc work fine with 10 and 11. Legacy booting and drivers arent supported but work fine. They just do not auto detect and install from windows update. This is true for machines as old as the Optiplex GX620 or Dimension 9000 series or XPS 400, 410, 420, 430. There are various tricks to get it working but it requires doing research. It also requires windows 10 installed with all drivers and updates BEFORE upgrading the install to 11. So you will want to download the ISO for Windows 10 21H2 as well as the Windows 11 21H2 ISO files because you will need them later. I suggest saving these large files to an external NTFS hard drive that is for permanent backup. SSD drives and Flash Drives de trap losing their data over time. External hard drives kept in a cool dry place can retain data for 50 years.
I tested this quite a long time ago with a 170 meg conner IDE hard drive with MSDOS and Windows 3.11 for workgroups. Taking the drive out every 10 years or so and seeing if it booted and would run windows. It did without error.
In OCT 2025 windows 10 media will be gone forever.
So getting an OEM WIN10 dvd for recovery NOW is a very good idea. Later on its too late.
Using the ISO files Rufus 3 can make an installer for 10 and 11 that works without requiring Secure boot or TPM or CPU version etc.
Previous advice: I'm sure not the most desired solution, but one idea is to run it with the side panel off. It would definitley prevent heat from building up within the tower. If there's a case intrusion switch, it would have to be fooled by taping it down or something.
Tesla1856 had the idea in the first page of this thread to gift or sell it.
It's under warranty yet? I wonder if you can trade for something different, like an XPS. I wouldn't get another PC with the same chassis design.
The maximum turbo frequency and thermal speed boost frequency of the cpu or the Turbo Boost Max technology 3.0 frequency may be limited due to the high temperature of work (non-gaming).
Although I bought a heat sink and installed it on the top, the temperature still did not decrease (90C°), but the average clocks was increased to 39x (avg. 36x before), which is a good improvement in performance.

It really does exhaust heat like a chimney. I would think use 120mm front and top fan would be better than a 92mm fan.
The manual doesn't say so, I don't know if the BIOS can customize control the fan speed?
