Fast boot is a Windows 10 option.  It is set in  Settings/System/Power and Sleep/Additional Power Settings/Choose what the power buttons do.

When FastBoot option is available in BIOS, it skips more-thorough RAM tests (and other hardware). Not a particularly good idea, but if you really need to save 20 seconds a day, I guess you can.

20-30 seconds is about right for older BIOS-based systems.

Newer UEFI-based systems boot faster due to system architecture.

Hello, this machine takes 30 seconds to start loading Windows 10. Any option to speed up boot?

It looks like you have everything right on track for a faster boot.  It's not mentioned - Did you already enable fast boot in Win10 as fireberd mentioned above?

By any chance have you tried a different SSD?  I didn't see a video, but in quite the contrast, bmcowboy said his Precision boots in 5 seconds.

Hello my friend, I have tried using both options: 1) Win 10 Fast Boot Enable and 2) Win 10 Fast Boot Disable.

I have also tried using a different OS like Ubuntu, and from the following steps the times for step 1 and 2 remain the same:

1. Blank Screen: 19 Seconds.
2. Dell Logo 18 Seconds.
3. Windows Boot or Little dots in the bottom: 16 seconds (Ubuntu takes in this step 14 Seconds).

Total Boot time until Log on Screen: 53 Seconds.

Hello my friend. Thank you for your quick answer. After I saw your message I tried using a different SSD and the Boot Time is the same. I also tried using a regular SSD (Samsung Evo Pro 1TB) not an nvme and the boot time improves by 2 seconds. So It seems almost the same.

The other test I have done is disconnecting all the USB devices except the keyboard and I get no better results.

This is the second time I buy a Dell system and they don't work as expected. I had a lot of expectations on this one but I'm really disappointed. I think I should learn my lesson and never buy a Dell system again.

Sorry about the luck you're having.  It's not like the 5820 is throwing error codes to help pinpoint either.  The only other thing I could possibly suggest is the latest BIOS, but I see you have that already.

Since Win 7 is using UEFI and Secure Boot do I have to do any special backup of the UEFI Data Base?

In my opinion this is not related with the OS, the Slow part is before the OS starts loading, so is the hardware or the BIOS Software.

the issue is with the bios and not windows or ssd. and why is DELL not commenting on the issue. look like they are totally mute on every platform concerning the subject matter. customer service indeed
