T7910 and Hardware Locks
Hi Folks,
I own two Precision workstations, a T7610 and a T7910. Both are specced about the same (dual xeons and 128gb ram) and are running Windows 10, 1809.
For some reason, however, I'm having a heck of a time with the T7910, since it refuses to recognise two Sentinel hardware locks, connected to the computer with a parallel PCI card, and running on a Windows XP virtual machine. The T7610 is equipped the same and runs perfectly.
I double checked all the settings, both hardware and software, and they are identical on both machines. There are no hardware conflicts, and all software settings match. The only difference seems to be in the BIOS. The T7610 includes some additional PCI settings (PCI Bus Configuration, set at 256, and PCI MMIO size set to small). The T7910 lacks both of these.
Could this BIOS difference have something to do with my problem? I'm at the point of tearing my hair out in frustration, because I do not understand what the problem could possibly be! Is there a BIOS setting I should change in the T7910? Or is it something else? Thanks in advance for any positive opinions or suggestions!

Speedstep, the PCI Parallel Card (not PCIE) is installed on the single PCI slot under Windows 10 64-bit (version 1809). The card contains a single Parallel Port, supports Windows 10 and installs just fine! As I wrote above Device Manager reports that the LPT Port is working correctly and is without any I/O conflicts. Both the T7610 and the T7910 are configured exactly the same, but only the T7910 fails to work.
On both machines Windows XP is the guest operating system inside VMWARE Workstation, which is also supported by Windows 10. VMWARE Workstation recognises the LPT Port, installs it in Windows XP and connects to it. Again, the T7610 is configured exactly the same. It is fine, but the T7910 is not. Why?? This should work on both computers!

Speedstep, I did fresh reinstalls of Windows 10, and Windows 7, together with all software. The keys are still not recognised, so it must be a hardware issue. Could the different chipsets C602 (T7610) vs C612 (T7910) have something to do with it?

and running on a Windows XP virtual machine.
Parallel ports and Serial Ports are Legacy ISA ports from 1981.
XP is not supported since 2014.
Optiplex GX620 Tower with built in Parallel port running native XP will Likely work just fine.

None of what is not working is from dell or supported by dell. Rainbow Technologies Sentinel SUPERPRO Srb02950 Dongle / Hardware Keys are not supported here.

Sentinel SuperPro keys are also available in USB
The recommended Optiplex machine will run MSDOS all the way thru Windows 10 without issue.
