64-Bit driver for 942?

I am using Windows XP 64-bit edition.

Also have a Dell All-In-One Printer 942.
Anyone knows where to find 64-bit drivers, or if there are workarounds.
My ancient HP 990Cxi installed automatically as MS had included drivers for it, but this one...no.

Thanks for any hints.

Does this mean the printer is incompatible w/ x64 ?  I have tried the 32 bit drivers with no luck.  The printer is recognized but driver install fails.  Any help would be great.  Thanks

There isn't a 64 bit driver for the 942 at the moment and it is doubtful that Dell or anyone else will write a driver for printers that are 2 and 3 models old. The 944 and I believe the 946 comes with a driver for both 32 and 64 bit. And the comparable model of Lexmark has a 64 driver (however Dell and Lexmark are not the same and programs, ink, etc. are not normally interchangeable). Dell and others say they won't work on yours and similar models but you might want to experiment for yourself. Dell will be coming out shortly with Vista drivers that will work with all new models and some older models. If you find or can make something work, publish it on the forum so others might try it.

Awesome info !!  Thanks a bunch.  I will play around with it and see what I can find out and post the outcomes.  As for now, I just networked a laptop for a print/photo station running xp32.  I'll be in touch and thanks again.
