Sharing 1710-non network printer

Does anyone know if you can share a 1710 non-networked printer by using BOTH a usb and a parallel cable?
Will the printer auto-select by which cable is active at the moment?
I have people who just have to play with settings and turn off the printer sharing.

Thanks in advance

Hi Reed OK, i can help you but you left out alot of info. What OS, Why use par and USB on the same printer? The usb is much faster. You can share any printer in windows, but if it is connected to a PC you just need to share it out. Plus if that PC is ever off than no one else in the network can use the printer it must be turned on so everyone can use it, or the printer needs to have a print server.

sorry about that, I have 6 pcs sharing 3 printers
    all are runnign xp-pro
they are being used by sales people who like to chnage things-or tunplug cables.
they don't undersand that when they do this they make the printer un-available to the "shared' user.
I have parallel cables for forms printers, I thought if I could run a parallel to the shared pc and leave the usb on the attache pc, it might cheeply stop some problems.
But I son't see if the Delll1710 will auto-switch between the two cables as jobs are printed.
    Thank for any help
