Microsoft office

I've got Windows Vista Home Basic. It doesn't even have excel or word. Do I have to upgrade windows to download Microsoft 2003 which I have been given for free.

    Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office are two separate products, so no you don't have to upgrade to install Office 2003.
