3200MP - Image Problems

This is sounding like a familiar story here on this board....

Have a 3200MP. When I first turn it on, picture looks fine. After approx. 5 minutes, image will blank for about 5 seconds, then it will come back on with all the colors out of whack (reddish/mauve tint) and a faint "swirling" motion happening in the image.

The bulb only has 56 hours on it.

If I shut the unit down for a minute and then turn it back on, it's fine again...for a few minutes. Then it does the same thing.

Anybody have a definitive answer on what is wrong? Not sure if my unit is still under warranty.

I am actually on the phone with Dell support right this minute. My unit is out of warranty by 32 days - on an extended warranty; they don't sound like they will give me any slack, though.

I am being transferred to the "out of warranty repair" line now.

Will let you know what they tell me.

I am also having this problem with my 3200MP.  (Out of warranty, of course!)

The 2000 hours were up, so I replaced my lamp with a new one.  After about 20 minutes, the image started jumping around and then the projector shut itself off with the LAMP light a steady orange. (Until the fan went off)

After trying this a couple of times, I put my old lamp back in and tried it again.  Same thing happened, so it must not be the lamp.

It was working fine before I changed the lamp.

Any ideas??  Thanks for any help.

OK, so Dell Technical Support was a waste of time. They didn't even want to talk to me since it was out of warranty (again, by only 5 weeks). I asked if they could at least help me troubleshoot the problem; the girl said I'd need to speak with Out of Warranty Repair people. When I was transferred there, they just wanted to send me a form so I could RMA the unit and pay for it to be fixed. When I asked if they could help me troubleshoot the problem - before spending money to send it back to be repaired - they said that Technical Support should have done that; that is whay they are there for. However, when I explained that they didn't, they were kind enough to transfer me to one of their engineers (who actually works on the units) to help me figure out what might be wrong; this was nice because these people aren't even a part of Dell.

Anyway, after explaining what was happening, the engineer said it sounded like a main board problem - not a bulb problem.
