My friend has a 2100MP that was under warranty, then they sent it in to get it fixed (under warranty) and got back a refurbished unit that now is not under warranty (one year is up) and its broke.  it emits a loud whining noise that we have determined to be the color wheel.  now it will not project in the correct colors, IE red for blue etc.  also sometimes goes black and white. 

 

what can he do?  do we need to get another color wheel?  where and how much can i get one?  hopefully the cheapest price.

 

this is verry annoying to them, as they have it on a payment plan, and have not yet finished paying on it.  so they are in a sense making payments on something that does not work.  also its going to end up costing them not 1100$ but more like 1600$ or more (without the fix).
