Wireless projector???

Hi Guys,

Wondered if anyone knew if it is possible to set up a system whereby my laptop connects wirelessly to a projector. Am looking to buy a projector and tryin to work out what to buy and how am gonna set it up. I have an Inspiron 5100, 768RAM, P4 2.8GHz. XP HomeSP2 and a cable modem. Also, sould anyone recommend which tv card will work best so that I can run my cable tv through it. Eventually I would like my tv cable and internet cable to go to one point, wireless to the laptop then wireless to the projector, not quite sure if is poss but am gonna try, lol..... Each turn seems to be a lesson.....!!!

Kind Regards

Pete.   :smileyhappy:

I don't remember whether there is any Dell projector that has built-in wireless presentation capability -- probably none, but your options are many: D-Link wireless presentation gateway (DPG-2000W) uses 802.11g, LiteShow uses 802.11b, and Linksys wireless presentation player uses 802.11g. However, when your computer communicates with the presentation adapter, you won't have access to the rest of your wireless network or the Internet unless (I am purely speculating) your computer utilizes two wireless adapters.

    Hmmm, Thanks.

At least that means its possible. I am no expert by a long way. I better find out what this machine does have in terms of connectivity. I would want to be able to use the internet on my projector. Basically I want to be able to use the projector as a second monitor. Also, will my wireless broadband connection need to be one of these new 108Mbps units.

    Thanks for the help,

    Regards,

    Pete.
