R910 + H700I Raid Card

Hi!

I have a PowerEdge R910 which running HDD setup

VD01 : OS - R1

VD02 : 8 x 800GB SSD - R6

VD03 : 6 x 600GB HDD -R10

This server is running DB workload and I realized the max throughput is capped at -/+1.5GB, which I believe theoretical speed should be higher.

Dell Experts, your advice is greatly appreciated!

    Wan1987,

While we don't normally support performance issues, I would recommend that you ensure that the R910 is up to date on the BIOS, iDrac, H700i, as well as the drives themselves (if available).

Let me know if there is any increase once the platform is up to date.

Thank you for your feedback. Firmware updated to latest available firmware version.

Performance seems to be much better but I'm not sure whether it is due the firmware update, because there are some config tuning(SQL tempdb, pagefile allocation, repartitioning).

Our server now rarely hits 1.5GBps throughput limit.

Would you confirm if the drives themselves are up to date?
