PowerVault ME5024 : remote start and stop ( on demand )
Hi All,
we have an ME5024 embedded in our product ( mobile truck ) so basically the ME5024 need to be started every day and stoppeds at the end of the day.
we need a remote procedure ( from an external pc ) to be able to stop the ME5024 gracefully : it seems achievable using a CLI script and SSH connexion as described in the documenattion , can you confirm this way?
On the other side we need to be able to remote start ( start on demand) the ME5024:
can the ME5024 started automically while giving electrical power or using a specific script from a remote PC? , or using Wake on Lan method? can we access bios of ME5024?
thanks for clarification

Hello Bertrand,
To Power on/off is a physical switch so no way to do that remotely.
You can shutdown or restart the enclosure with CLI or GUI. It actually leaves the controllers responsive to SSH/cli commands because it is not shut off just shut down.
Safe shutdown can be done with "shutdown sc both". You could remove power safely now.
When ready to start back on, you would run "restart sc both" and that will bring the unit back online.
Now that is if the power supplies remained still connected in the on position.
If someone turns off the power source, not power switch on the power supplies, and then reapply power at the source, then it will power back on automatically.
