DVD drives
The DVD drive supplied with dimension 8200 worked fine initially, but recently wouldn't recognise that there was a disk in the drive: I received message
please insert a disk into drive E. Note the existing CD drive using same cable is OK.
I have, thinking that the drive was at fault, installed a Plextor PX-716A - I still receive the same message!!
I have checked device manager, which states
this device is working properly.
Help please; where do I go from here?

Hi Delirium Tremens,
Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 6-3, article 26 and try these suggestions provide by some of our Members. If none of this helps, try Section 15, article 1; Section 20, article 3; Section 11, article 2; Section 12, articles 2, 3, 10.
