DVD/CD-ROM

Hi,
I have always been able to play my music CDs in Dell Jukebox and DVDs in Dell Media Experience.  Well, I tried to watch a movie this past weekend and when I put in the DVD the light blinks, as if it's doing something and nothing happens (it usually plays automatically); the same thing is happening with my music CDs.  I tried manually playing the DVD and I get the message 'insert a disk' and the disc is already inserted.  I get 'the disk is empty' with the Dell Jukebox.  I tried restoring it back to the past weekend I used the drive and that did not work.  They are both listed in the hardware and shows the drivers are the lastest ones when I do the auto updates.  I don't think cleaning it would help if both aren't working.  This means the computer is not reading CDs or DVDs.  HELP!! :smileysad:Thanks.  Dimension 4700 XP; 16x DVD(CD) ROM and 48x CDRW  Any and every possible help is greatly appreciated.

It is broken. Dell offers cheap junk drives in their systems, this is why it isn't working. Good luck Dell-Smell :P pheww

Thanks.  I have a 2 year warranty, so I'm sure this should be covered, right?
