Specifics

I just ordered a Dell Deminsin 8400 a day or two ago. It has a 16x DVD +/- RW drive in it. I was wondering what the exact speeds for each format was (i.e. -r, +r).

    Hi Boldgamer. I confess that I don't know the answer to your question, however, I am very interested in the progress of your order. I ordered similar system 11/22 and have received three notices on delays. Originally due to ship on 11/30, it has now been moved all the way to Jan. 05. Please let me know if you have any luck with this item. Thanks.

    Hi BoldGamer & DM14,

    Hover your mouse over the Product Support tab or the Learning tab, then select User Guides, click on Storage | DVD+RW drives, currently DEll is shipping the NEC 3450a and Philips 8631, someone stated the BengQ 1620 as well, but I cannot find any reference to this.

    dm14  I just called Dell and mine has been delayed too. I was supposed to get it on Wed. but it has been delayed untill Jan 4. They say it is because they have a shortage of motherboards that come installed on the 8400. They did give me free 1 day shipping because of this though but I am still a little dissapointed by the delay. I should have expected this though since it is the Christmas season.
