"Database initialization failed" during Installation.

During the Network Manager setup, after the reboot, I get the following:

"ERROR - Database initialization failed

The database build failed and the installation can not complete successfully.
The installation will have to be repeated to result in a valid installation.

Database build log is located at:
    C:\Program Files\Dell\OpenManage\Network Manager/db_setup.log
"

Checking that log file, the following snippets show the two types of errors problems:

I'm trying to install on WinXP Pro (SP1).  I've tried cleaning off all temp files, rebooting, and trying to create new databases in a new run at the installation.  No go.  I've checked Google and this board but don't see anyone else with this issue.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

The only reason that the installer would not be able to create the directory would be a permissions issue. You must install the application with a user that has Administrator privileges. I would suggest removing the application and install again using the Administrator account (try a local admin if the system is part of a windows domain).

After the reboot, you must also log in using same Administrator account you used to begin the install.

    Thanks for the reply, Greg.

...but I did all that the first time.  And the second time.

    Hello,

Did you manage to resolve the problem? I have the exact same problem. I think the problem comes from a conflict with versions of some DLL's or some other program installed on the system. MYSQL??

Any help would be most appreciated.

    I have tried basivally everything!!

    Cheers,
