Hello,
I have a question regarding the Dell Unity Host Type.
As far as I know, when I manually create a host in Dell Unity, the Host Type is shown as Manual
However, I remember seeing cases where the Host Type was displayed as Auto, and I would like to know under what circumstances it is shown as Auto.

Hello frey_ksg,
What is your current OS version, as you didn’t state it in your original post? If you are at unity OS 5.1 you will see under type manual or auto. The issue is fixed in unity OS 5.2.0.0.5.173 and newer.

Thank you for your reply.
The OE version currently running is 5.5.3.0.5.057.
I asked this question simply out of curiosity, because although the host has now been deleted, I previously saw a case on OE version 5.2.1.0.5.013 where the following was displayed in Host Properties > General:
Type: Auto
Managed By: OtherI was simply curious about the conditions under which a host is classified as Auto or Manual.
If you happen to know what determines whether the Host Type is set to Auto or Manual, or whether this behavior differs depending on the connection method (such as iSCSI or FC), I would appreciate it if you could share that information.

Hello frey_ksg,
In previous version prior to the change you would see how the host was created. Since the change in newer version of OE that feature has been removed. I am not sure why it was removed, however this has no change of speed or type of connection that the host has to your unity system.
