I have been using PayPal when I occasionally order on the internet. Is this a reasonably safe way to pay for items that i order? Is there a saver way? I haven't had a problem so far. I don't like to give out my credit card # over the internet. Any comments would be appreciated.
Hi, I have used paypal on quite numerous occasions, never had any problems. I was using it a lot on e-bay, and paypal was extremely good at taking the correct amount of money, but also on refunds when there were some returns. A couple of years ago I had my identity stolen, but it wasn't because of paypal. I recommend them. Good Luck.
There is another way. Get a credit card with a low amount on it. I have one that I have set to $300. It is basically a throw away account. If it is compromised, I close the account and open a new one. Or you can get a reloadable prepaid card. Then when you want to purchase something online, you put the amount on it that you want to spend. Most of those kinds of cards do cost about $3 to reload, but they are a true throw away card and they are not connected to you in any way. No bills or statements.
