  Either be careful to UNcheck any pre-checked offers for bundled programs/toolbars (unless you really want them)... or else, wait a few days until the SLIM build is released.

• A new Startup item and tray icon areadded (as detected by WinPatrol:)  
          CCleaner Monitoring (CCleaner.exe /MONITOR).  
  Looking in CCleaner under OPTIONS / Monitoring, the box to Enable System Monitoring is PRE-CHECKED.   It appears this will have CCleaner run continually in the background, to prompt the user to clean his/her system whenever doing so would save more than .5 GB.   [There are other menus/options here, which are restricted to the PRO version.]   I have to question whether this feature is really worth it, regardless of how little system resources it might use in so doing.   For more information (which was written-up as originally applying to the PRO version), see http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/ccleaner-settings/changing-monitoring-settings-ccleaner-professional 

• Furthermore:   Unless something is malfunctioning (or I overlooked another option located elsewhere), this background process seems exceptionally persistent.   I UNchecked the box that Enabled System Monitoring, but the startup entry still appeared in WinPatrol :emotion-6:.   I disabled that entry... even tried deleting it entirely... but CCleaner's monitoring process started nevertheless :emotion-7: (as could be seen by its new icon in my system tray).   And the icon would repeatedly be placed there again, each time I simply opened/ran CCleaner.   If this is a "feature', I find it so annoying as to be unacceptable.  Accordingly --- especially since none of the other improvements apply to my system/programs --- I reverted back to CCleaner version 4.17... and may just decline to update it in the future.

  Note:  My testing was done on a Win7x64 Pro SP1 system, in case that makes a difference.
