Snapshot script
Hi,
Can any one help me to understand the below lines(two different logs) provided by the EMC VNXe 3100. This was extracted by the EMC team.
Logs #1:-
2012-06-28 06:26:38.856 db:0:30838:S: nas_fs -name fs1340864798 -create size=1024M pool=id=57 worm=off -auto_extend yes -hwm 75% -max_size 2108385M -vp yes -option mover=server_3 -mount_option mountmover=server_3,mountpoint=/fs1340864798,mountmode=rw
2012-06-28 06:26:43.114 db:0:30838:E: nas_fs -name fs1340864798 -create size=1024M pool=id=57 worm=off -auto_extend yes -hwm 75% -max_size 2108385M -vp yes -option mover=server_3 -mount_option mountmover=server_3,mountpoint=/fs1340864798,mountmode=rw
Log #2:-
http://www.emc.com/schemas/celerra/apl_1.0">
appLabel="C.e.l.e.r.r.a. .V.S.S. .P.R.V" createTime="2012-09-04T18:28:25Z" id=" fs34_T1_LUN1_CKM00121301078.ckpt006 " lunSizeMB="2096103" mover="server_3" productionLun="1" promotedNumber="128" target="SANStoragebox"/>
Please, help to undesratnd and identify the issue.
As I am not at all expert in VNXe Storage.
Thanks

Sure -
Logs #1:-
2012-06-28 06:26:38.856 db:0:30838:S: nas_fs -name fs1340864798 -create size=1024M pool=id=57 worm=off -auto_extend yes -hwm 75% -max_size 2108385M -vp yes -option mover=server_3 -mount_option mountmover=server_3,mountpoint=/fs1340864798,mountmode=rw
Under the covers, the VNXe generates commands very similar to the Celerra and VNX. This output shows the creation (-create above) of a thin-provisioned filesystem (noted by the auto_extend flag and high water mark [hwm]). This filesystem has a maximum size of 2.1TB (2108385M).
Log #2:-
http://www.emc.com/schemas/celerra/apl_1.0">
appLabel="C.e.l.e.r.r.a. .V.S.S. .P.R.V" createTime="2012-09-04T18:28:25Z" id="fs34_T1_LUN1_CKM00121301078.ckpt006" lunSizeMB="2096103" mover="server_3" productionLun="1" promotedNumber="128" target="SANStoragebox"/>
This a listing resulting from the creation of an iSCSI snapshot on the VNXe. The creation date is self-explanatory; the size of the source (iSCSI) LUN is
2096103MB.
You can get a better feel from some of the log messages by looking at the VNX documents "Managing Volumes and File Systems with VNX". Let us know if that helps!
