My computer keeps stopping and saying 90% of my systems resourse are in use. I need to free up space or my computer may stop responding. My system restore will not let me in to try that. It tells me to restart my computer and it says the same thing again.
If you're successful booting to Windows, you're going to want to make sure your anti virus definitions are up to date and run a complete system scan for viruses. You should also use something like AdAware or Spybot Search and Destroy to look for/eliminate malware on the system.
The presence of bulk parasites can make it very difficult to detect critical symptoms of major infections. We need to clear them out first. Please co-operate when asked to run Spybot . We have to create a level playing field to work with. Get them here:
Download Spybot Search and Destroy from www.spybot.info.orhttp://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html Once downloaded, install it and choose the appropriate language. Before running a full system scan it is crucial that you update Spybot’s database for additions of known threats, this increases your chances of solving your problem. Once it has updated run a full system scan and fix anthing in red.
If the above fixes fail you would need to run hijackthis Here are some sites where you can receive help analyzing your HijackThis log from trained experts. Note that the sites require registration before you will be able to post. Include your Hijackthis log in the post while explaining your problem at the same time. http://radiosplace.com/ http://tomcoyote.com/hjt/#copyandpaste
i use msconfig to load only what i want to load at startup.scanregistry and systray must always be enabled. most programs (but not all) you can start after windows loadswhen you need them. there is always disk clean up, defragement, reboot, disable virtual memory, reboot then defragement again, reboot, then enable virtual memory with a reboot (this puts the virtual memory (swap file) all in one piece at the end of everything else. some recommend norton systemworks defragementer because it can put the swap file at the front of the drive but i do not think it is worth it. you could also disable any screensaver. delete your cookies too. is your virtual memory enabled?
thanks, brian

Try starting System Restore from a command prompt, using the directions at the link below.
