A Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 compliant DVD/MPEG-2 Decoder is required for proper operation of Media Center (preinstalled by your system manufacturer). Please refer to the Windows XP Media Center Edition Partners site for details on available DVD Decoder component suppliers.
I looked at the link, but saw nothing that seemed to help . . what do I need to download to watch live TV using this card?
I recently upgraded my Dell 4600 with XP MCE 2004 to MCE 2005. I installed 2 eHome Wonder cards, the latest eHome drivers from the ATI website and the Omega drivers (to allow MCE 2005 to recognize my AIW 9000 low profile card). XP did not allow me to watch live or recorded TV when I installed the PowerDVD v 5 that came with my Dell machine. In then installed InterVideo WinDVD 6.0 platinum edition and it worked fine. I have read reports of the nVidia DVD decoder working fine too. That is available for $20 from the nVidia website.
On Nividia's website it says the following "* The NVIDIA DVD Decoder works with Microsoft Windows Media Center, Windows Media Player, Interactual, and NVIDIA ForceWare Multimedia applications only for DVD playback."
