Cannot Display Certain Webpages. DNS Error.

I recently discovered that i am unable to visit a single website that i regularly go to. When i click on the link it doesnt even try to load the page and automatically goes to the "cannot be displayed" page. When i click properties i get :

res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/index.php?

I have searched the forum and online and havent found anything helpfull. Im running XP with SP2, yes i did use spybot recently. I have tried the SFC and i also tried using the system restore which has to be the most useless feature ever invented, it seems to have forgotten all my restore dates once i used it a couple times. Oh goody :)  I also tried repairing XP using the setup disc. Basically i have tried everything suggestion without doing a complete reformat. I had to do that about a month ago and i really didnt find it to be all that much fun. Now its looking like i need to do it again. I just got done burning 7 DVD's with all my info on there but still a PITA to do it.

Any ideas whats causing this like spyware or something, and if theres anything i can do to fix it short of reformatting? I have tried accesing it through Mozilla which gives me the same results, also tried replacing the DLL file. Same result.  Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks

from your post, i went to the website, and it worked, for me.. here is the link::

if you are still not able to access the website, try deleting your temporary internet files, and your cookies, in ie/tools/options/general, and see if that helps..

If that doesn't work go to the home page and click on the Forums link.

Yes i have done all of those things. I cannot access anything that has anything to do with tundrasolutions website. Its like theres something on here that doesnt work as soon as i try to get anything off their site. I suppose i will just have to reformat the computer again.

I'm thinking there's an easy solution. If you're not blocking popups and you have rebooted after removing cookies and TIF files you could try using their IP number instead of the www. Paste this in and see if it makes any difference. I wouldn't reinstall for such a small problem.

Did you try accessing it with your firewall down ?
Are you accessing it from the same page (eg your home page) every time ?

Wow, thanks, Putting in the IP seems to work, however alot of the pictures and stuff dont seem to load in IE. Firefox works fine though. Perhaps i will just start using that broswer instead. Thanks for the help.

This usually fixes res. dns errors. Copy the bold text below to notepad and 'save as' dns.bat to the desktop and then run it. It must have the .bat extension to run. It simply replaces shdoclc.dll with a good copy from the i386 folder.

    cd c:\WINDOWS\system32
    if exist c:\WINDOWS\system32\SaveOld goto next
    mkdir C:\WINDOWS\system32\SaveOld
    :next
    copy /y C:\windows\system32\shdoclc.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\SaveOld\shdoclc.old
    expand C:\i386\shdoclc.dl_ C:\WINDOWS\system32
    pause
    cls
    exit

edit: changed move /y to copy /y

Tried the code, didnt work. I still have the problem. As long as i access the site using the IP, and save the bookmark while im there, and dont try to type it in... it seems to work fine. thanks for all the help.
