Is there any way to change my default folder when opening Windows Explorer. The normal info I use is several clicks away from the opening folder, e.g., My Documents. I then have to click on My Computer, C drive, then the folder where I have my personal sub folders stored.
If you are accessing Windows Explorer from the All Programs menu go to its listing, right-click it, and select Properties. In the Target: window enter
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,c:\ to open Windows Explorer to an expanded view of the C:\ partition. If you wish to open a specific folder in C:\ change the ending of the target to reflect that folder, i.e.
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,c:\myfolder.
Thanks Denny!! Your instructions worked perfectly resolving my problem. It also gives me insight as to how to change defaults in other programs. I greatly appreciate your valuable assistance!
I'm sorry. I failed to say that I was using a desktop shortcut for Windows Explorer, but it did not have a defined Target. I received a reply which allowed me to change my default folder. Thanks for replying.

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum (DCF).
Have you considered just making a shortcut to this folder on your desktop?
