I would recommend that you uninstall all versions and leave it off. You would be better off by just accessing Dell Support site using your browser. If you want to install it anyway, uninstall version 3.2.2 first, reboot, redownload and install Support Center.

I just downloaded the support center on my dimension e521 (AMD 4400,  with Vista home premium), removed the old Dell support as instructed,  and I initially had the same problem: briefly saw the no Dell system loaded note, and then had no access to any of the features of support center, even though the window for it opened when I clicked on its large desktop icon.

I restarted, with no success on getting it to work.  I tried to download it again and used the repair function that automatically came up----no success and it came up with : error 1316 network error occurred while attempting to read from file.....message. I then tried turning off my Norton 360 virus protection and then downloading the support center again. The repair function came up and I again used it --- this time the repair function worked and after it downloaded a few files it said the support center had successfully installed and told me to restart. I did so and support center now works and shows a small icon in the system tray? area (lower right of screen near the clock).

Maybe I just got lucky, but maybe my Norton was somehow interfering. If you have an anti-virus running you might want to try turning it off also and see if that makes a difference. Good luck.
