Empty Start Menu

Hi
I have a brand new XPS 1530 with Vista Ultimate and I am new to this OS.
I played around a little (not much tho :smileywink: ) and now is my Start Menu all empty. If I click on " All Program" they appear but I want a bunch of programs showing when I click on the Start button (or maybe it's Win button nowadays?), but they are all gone.
When right click on the program list and get to Properties -> Customize for Start Menu I can see that the option for how many programs icons to show is greyed out! It should be about 10 items but I cannot set any! :smileysad:

What can I do about this?

Thanks for any help!

Under Properties, before you click on Customize, look further down the page where it says "Store and Display a List of Recently Opened Windows".  Check it.  Now when you go to Customize, the "number of recent programs to display" will no longer be grayed out and you can adjust it.
