I use Windows Mail in Vista. I will be uninstalling Office 2003 (trial version) and replacing it with Office 2007 (different suite). Do I need to back up my Contacts (or export or something??) before I do the Office Suite change or does Windows Mail originate from Vista? I have never used Outlook so my email is not tied up in this program.
If I do need to tend to my Contacts, what should I do?
To be safe I would back-up all of my contacts and save any e-mail that I want to keep. You should be able to export them to a file then import them after the upgrade.
Windows Mail (formally Outlook Express) is integrated into Vista has nothing to do with Microsoft Outlook that comes bundled with Microsoft Office. You can safely uninstall Office 2003 and install Office 2007 without affecting anything in Windows Mail.

Thanks for the info. I thought that Windows Mail originated from Vista but people were telling me to back up Contacts and my email messages before I switched MS Office suites. I was puzzled by this, but now I won't worry about it.
