I recently started operating a new Dell 8400 with Windows XP versioin 6.0.
I wish to install Flight Simulator 4000 on my new system.
I have a SideWinder precision 2 controller left over from my old Windows 98 system.
On the software disc it states precision 2 is designed for Windsows 98.
Can anyone tell me if I will have any problems trying to install SideWinder precision 2 on my new XP system, or if there is anything else I have to do to install this software on my system
To substantiate what firebird said,
here is someone with the same controller that just plugged in the USB controller and it worked and they didn't have to install any other drivers.
The Win98 drivers are incompatible with XP, you will have to have XP drivers. However, just plug the controller in and see what happens, as XP has built in support for some game controllers. If that doesn't work, then you'll have to check for updated drivers? That is a Microsoft product, right?, check the Microsoft site for updated drivers.
