Invalid Drive message when installing or uninstalling programs
I get a message that says "Invalid drive:E;\" when i try to install or uninstall programs. This is a new error message. I have a Latitiude d600 with XP pro. Thanks in advance
Thanks Mombodog! It was in another registry path other than what Worldpath listed. But I tracked it down and fixed the problem. You were a great help
T
Z:\ is 'Egnyte Desktop App' --- a cloud network drive
DDPM-Setup_2.3.0.9.exe /? had no apparent switch to make it use a different drive for whatever it is doing.
Logged into the non-domain workgroup machine as a different use that is not setup with 'Egnyte Desktop App' (e.g. does not have a cloud mapped drive) to resolve. Install succeeded.
I ran into this years ago, and it turned out the installer was looking for a drive letter that no longer existed. It's often caused by leftover registry entries from an old installation. If every installer shows Invalid Drive E:\, that's a strong sign it's a Windows Installer issue rather than a Dell hardware problem. Did the E: drive used to exist on your system?
