Java: Microsoft vs Sun
Dell 4100, Me, factory installed JVM (ver 1.1.4 from Microsoft)
I want to use an application requiring Sun Java.
Should I uninstall the above ver before installing the Sun ver?
or, should I go ahead and install the Sun Java without removing the Microsoft ver?
If I remove the Microsoft ver, will my Dell programs such as Resolution Assistant run on the Sun ver?
If I should uninstall the Microsoft ver, how should I do it (it is not on the add/remove programs list)?

No need to uninstall Microsoft's VM. The two can coexist nicely on a system. I have not done it, but some users simply check to use both VMs on the Advanced tab of IE's Tools|Internet Options and have reported no problem with that.
