Problems With Computer Freezeing Dell Demension 2400

I Bought this computer from Dell In 2004 and have enjoyed it from the beginning. Until recently i have had only small problems with my system and have been easy to fix.

Recently i found a problem with my system locking up no matter which program i ran and thought i had to find this problem or buy a new computer. I hated the thought of having to but a new system since most will last for years depending on what you use them for. My Slef i like Gaming on line and have for over 15 years. Now for my results.

I got into the case of my system as i do yearly to make sure its kept clean and running properly. I Found the Fan in this system slows over time and the fan isnt strong enough to help keep the system cooling, which in turn over heated the stsyem and kept locking it up. The mouse would freeze on anything. I Took the cover off the back of the case and found it was restricting the air flow to the motherboard.  Ive been letting it run now for hours and am now not having the system locking up.

KEEP IT COOL THE SYSTEM WILL RUN ALOT BETTER

    LtOrion,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Have you looked into purchasing a different fan that may work better than the one that is inside the system?
