Registration Error

Every time I start my computer I get an error - "Cannot open data file to run registration program."

It isn't causing any problems, just annoying.  Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Try turning off User Account Control (UAC).

Choose Start > Control Panel and open User Accounts. Click on the link Turn User Account Control on or off.

If you are confident working with the registry you could search for Registration and delete any likely culprit.

If you try this don't forget to back up the registry before you start!!

Not a good idea to edit the Registry for this. There are too many entries for registration and you could disable your computer. You should figure out which startup program is causing this. You should check Event Viewer for the error message. You can open Windows Defender, Tools, Software Explorer, Startup programs and disable the likely culprit. You can disable all the startups, reboot and add them back one at time and reboot after each one. Or you might be able to tell which one shouldn't be starting when you boot. Antivirus/antispyware programs, Creative sound programs, Internet stuff that loads before you are connected, etc. are the ones to watch out for.

Thank you, but this is pretty much over my head considering the fact I don't understand the Event Viewer.  There are several error messages.  And I definitely don't feel comfortable messing with the Registry.  Thanks for your help tho.
