Until an hour ago, I had had splendid performance from SpyBot Search & Destroy 1.2. Then, when I attempted to download the August 15 and September 1 updates, my computer froze twice during the downloads.

I will try again from time to time during the next few days.

Here is the SpyBot website. However you might find it more beneficial to download the lastest version from one of his satellites.

I run Spybot 1.2 on my pc and have found it to be very stable.  The problem that ThSQ is having is related to the servers being over loaded and cannot handle all the downloads at one time. You can choose a different sever by changing the default server which is beside download updates. UniDo[Europe] is the default. 

I've had problems with an older version of SpyBot, but the current version 1.2 is very stable and reliable for those who use it.  Due to the past issues, I now use Ad-Aware and Spyware Blaster.  However, many people on this forum use both SpyBot and Ad-Aware, and the programs both work well installed on the same system.

spybot does not have that many problems it is a good program i have been useing it for about 3 years now the only os it has problems with is windows server 2003

i have some bad news about Spyware Blaster it is a spyware it you would run just spybot on the sytem it will detech Spyware Blaster and tell you it is spyware
