Start up issues

How do I get rid of all the error mesages when I start up?

It seems that I spend time closing 5-6 error messages when I start my computer.

You could start by posting what the error messages state.

They are basically programs that I have deleted. On start up the messages are that

these particular programs could not be started or detected.

Start->run->msconfig

If you go to the startup area of the msconfig program, you can disable the commands which are calling out for the launch of these programs which no longer exist.

How did you delete them,in add/remove or desktop icon etc.

A few were from add/remove programs.I also have a few after I used the system restore for Windows XP.
