startup
My computer is acting crazy again, but this time it cant even start up. When i turn it on it gives the usual screen when you first turn it on but when its supposed to start windows is says "setup is being restarted............" on a blue screen and does it all over again and again and again. I was told that this was because i inserted the windows cd and restarted before windows was reinstalled, but that is not the case because when i did this it was the computer that initiated the restart when it was done installing. Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

the same exact thing except for it gives a brief period where it says "press any key to book from CD" and if you do that if just brings you to the cd, but if you dont it goes back to the "startup is restarting......" business and goes back to the beginning and does it all over again, and again, and again....183

* Boot to the CD
* The system scans to see which hard drives are available
* When the license agreement screen appears, press the F8 key to accept the license agreement
* Press the Down Arrow key to highlight the copy of Windows XP that you want to repair
* Then, press the R key. Setup will proceed with the installation sequence appropriate to the version of Windows XP being repaired

So put the operating system CD in and restart. What happens then?
