Unusual problem with Flash Player....

Hello,
I use websites such as youtube.com and flashearth.com loads, however even though I have installed flash player on Internet Explorer (7) it still insists that I don't have flash. I have tries uninstalling and reinstalling, and the set up finished but still when I go on flashearth.com (I use this as my test if flash works) it says no flash detected. Due to this I downloaded and now use Firefox which flash works with but lots of programs use flash for internet explorer for some reason so they don't work.

This is really annoying! Can anyone help?

See if this Macromedia Knowledge Base Article does not correct the problem.

Very odd.  I've seen this specific problem a number of times and running the (downloaded) uninstaller and reinstalling as per instructions has corrected the issue in every instance.  As an afterthought, might try a reboot between the uninstall and reinstall.

Just tried that , still doesn't work. For some reason I can't install using the online installer so I downloaded the desktop installation and ran that.

Could it be something to do with IE privacy settings or something?

Ben_Robson, I feel your pain.I have tried everything in macromedias KB a dozen times over. Searched every forum and tried all suggestions with no joy.I go a month or two and try all over again to no avail.I just use Fire Fox.Some suggestions not in this thread are, if you have spyware blaster make sure the kill flash box is not checked.Zone alarm pro also has a kill bit for flash and if you revert to Za free version the kill bit stays.I also had giant-anti spyware from microsoft at one time and there was also a way to kill flash in there. With me Flash shows up as installed but just will not work. Also if you have dialup with an accelerator I think this messes up flash altogether. Happy hunting.Lee

I checked all of that yet nothing, I have spyware blaster, Ad aware and spybot aswell as Mcafee. As I got a virus a few days ago that wiped my hard drive I reinstalled windows and flash, but its the same! Still firefox only
