Vista, Bluetooth, and BlueTooth Elite keyboard
I have a Latitude D820 running Vista x32. It has an integrated Dell Bluetooth 350 module. I am using a Microsoft Bluetooth Elite keyboard.
It seems there's a problem with the optional Bluetooth update on Dell's website. I've been running the basic Microsoft Bluetooth driver for a couple of months w/o any issues. I installed the Dell Bluetooth update, and suddenly my Bluetooth keyboard won't work until AFTER I login to Windows. I have to click the 'Ease of Access' button and popup the on-screen keyboard and use the mouse to type in my password. Once I'm logged in, the keyboard works fine - don't have to re-pair it or anything.
I checked the status of the Bluetooth services - they're set to run 'Automatic'. I'm thinking there must be some other driver/setting that's not executing until after login, but I'm not sure what/where to look.
I reverted back to the default Microsoft driver that shipped with Vista, and the keyboard is functioning properly.
Any ideas?

At least my problem isn't random - with the Dell Bluetooth driver update installed, my bluetooth keyboard doesn't work until after login on Vista. With the plain Microsoft driver, my keyboard does work before login.- Mark
