      I wanted to check the balance on my speakers so I went to open the audio properties by clicking on the speaker on the taskbar ,well it was not there my sound is working just no speaker .So I went to the Sound Speech and Audio Devices in the Control Panel -Adjust the Volume in the Sound and  Audio Properties opened adjust the volume tab ! On that tab is a option to put speaker icon on taskbar by putting a check mark in the small box next to "put speaker icon on taskbar" When I try to add a check mark to that box ,I recieved this prompt "Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar,the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it use the add/remove programs in the Control Panel"  I have opened the control panel ,which is where I was anyway trying to add the speaker icon ,however I went to ther add remove Windows Components and browsed thru the entire options in that section and I could not find anything related to adding any audio component ? Except for a Audio Converter under Digitial Enhancements, I tried using my Dell Resource CD and re-installing the Stigma-Tel Audio drivers to no avail ,I also browsed thru Windows Explorer  the system32 folder trying to find something that may be related to the audio setup.exe ,still no joy ? Cabn someone please help me find out why I cant seem to figure out how to get my speaker icon back on the taskbar ,I know it was there however I do not know when it stopped appearing on the taskbar ?  I have the intergrated Stigma-Tel Audio 7.1 channel ! I have editied the registry B/4 ,becasue Iam beginning to think somehow the registry key for this may be missing ,or I can be way off the mark and perhaps Iam missing something in the control pannel ? I've been wrestling around with this for a couple of days now ,hoping someone at  Dell  can be of help .Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated !
